Merry Christmas to all who celebrate—and Joyeux Noël to French Canadians

Each year on Gurpurab (the birthday of Sikhism’s founder Guru Nanak), when I share about it on social media, something beautiful happens: the comment section gets filled with warm wishes and kind words from those people who don’t share my faith.

Today, on Christmas, I wanted to mirror that kindness back—to wish Merry Christmas to those celebrating, not because tradition demands it, but because joy recognizes joy across all boundaries. Festivals aren’t confined to the communities that birth them; they’re invitations to witness each other’s light, to celebrate the human impulse toward meaning and connection that transcends any single path.

So Merry Christmas to all who celebrate—and Joyeux Noël to French Canadians. 🎄
