Well stated.

Darkness and light have always been present in the human condition. It is always a matter of balance. Joy rides a dark horse.

The medicalized treatment for mental illnesses of many types, still has much to learn from knowing. Less than 100 years ago it was 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' as the social norm. Now we use psychotropic medications and continue ECT treatments when the medications are ineffective. Little has actually changed under medical 'professionals'.

Medice, cura te ipsum. Healer, heal thyself. You have done this.

Thank you for writing with truth, love, and joy while giving a nod to darkness.

Gurdeep, I read each word of this article out loud so that I could fully understand it. I can’t put enough emphasis on how clear, smooth and accurate this is. When you talked about “hope” that felt so personal. I resonated with it so deeply because that’s what I’m holding onto currently as there’s no other option left.

This article is so relatable and the 5 years of utter darkness that you talked about brought so many emotions into my heart and mind and I just wish, hope and pray with all my heart that everyone who’s ever endured or is going through something like this, gets through and emerges from it with full of wisdom, compassion and growth.

Gurdeep, I can’t thank you enough for putting this down and sharing it here. Keep shining bright! I wish you all the love, joy, hope, positivity, strength and resilience. 🙏🏽💖

Hello, Gurdeep! Thank you for sharing some of your story with us. Your decent into darkness reminds me very much of what my parents went through in 2001. They went bankrupt. They lost their business & home. It was devastating for them. / I want you to meet someone. His name is Ed Salinger. Have you heard of him? He’s in his 90’s. He has dementia. And everyday, just about every moment he has a positive attitude. But he has his bad moments too but doesn’t seem like many. You should check him out on social media, if you haven’t already. One of many Ed’s sons is Dan Salinger. Ed lives with Dan & wife Danielle. Imagine over & over again & again throughout each day, you find out you have no wife, no house, no car, no job. And you’re in your 90’s when you think you’re in your late thirties, early forties. Each time Ed hears the news he takes it with a grain of salt. Ed reminds me of something you said in the beginning of your article “By keeping our hearts open and our outlook bright…” That’s Ed for you! He’s amazing, he’s inspiring!

Gurdeep, sometimes we are so caught up in our negativity that we can’t find the the door to our joy and the exit seems a blurry dream where it feels like your feet are trying to run through mud.

We’ve all felt this at some point in our lives drowning in our own tears. Your words resonate with me because your vulnerability allows us, the readers to experience our own past trauma, seeing our own path out of the woods, it’s trees block out the rays of sunshine which we seek so that we can redeem ourselves with its warmth. Thank you for your special words, like always they inspire us to be the most that we can be allowing happiness to carry us through the storms.

Gurdeep...Thank you. This chatterbox is at a loss for words. This article is a cut above your usual beautiful writing. Worth reading multiplre times, absorbing the message, passing it on to everyone I can think of and finally, living your message. I try to live this way and you have inspired me to continue and remember more often. Blessings my friend.
