"However, he said that if he were standing in a same way on a hilltop or mountain, he couldn't maintain the same pose because his fears would overwhelm him." Is a great example of the importance of Context within our lives. I like the way you suggest we can master our fears. I played around Re: Phobia several yers back. https://catchmydrift.blog/2019/07/29/re-phobia/

Thank you for this insightful and practical article. My favorite sentence is: "The key lies in approaching each fear or shadow with a sense of curiosity and openness, rather than judgment or resistance."

Gurdeep we’ve all been taught things in our lives that were meant to protect us from the uncertainties and negativity that might surround us through our journey in life.

Our teachers could not be specific of the dangers that we may encounter or that truly exist in our world mostly because of our young age. So they used stories such as, The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the bean stalk, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood which were all symbolic, meant to illustrate the dangers that exist. Unfortunately fear is a necessary lesson for us all to learn in that it is a way for us to judge the limits that are necessary to navigate our choices and decisions. These limits are not meant to restrict us in our growth and abilities to enjoy our lives reaching our full potentials, rather they are there to teach us situational awareness.

We’ve discussed in previous articles that some things that we were taught were not exactly beneficial to us , so we must , as adults wade through these lessons and decide for ourselves what we adhere to and what things we unlearn. I believe that there is healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Just like your example of the doctor standing on his toes on the floor, we must be aware of the danger that is associated with our actions, this acknowledgment allows us to stand on the edge of a cliff, however we need the sense to tie ourselves off to a secure life line. This is healthy fear that allows us to still feel the exhilaration of standing at the edge while acknowledging the danger that we must be cognitive of if we want to experience it. Unhealthy fear stops us from learning and moving forward, it stagnates our development and erodes our confidence.

The stories that our elders taught us are meant to make us aware without being reckless so that we can live to our best potential finding our true joy.
