Yet, pursuing joy is worthwhile—it's what we truly need as it illuminates the path through difficult times. This was a lesson I found myself during living in my cabin in the Yukon wilderness.
You are so right Gurdeep. There are so many things in this life that will bring sadness and grief to our door. We can’t avoid it but as you say let its visit be short and send it Ion it’s way. Nature is a wonderful healer. In this fast pace society with its financial pressures, pressure to succeed and unreasonable expectations it is easy to feel we fall short. We need to take a step back and become like children finding joy in the simple things, a beautiful flower, a Fall leaf, a snowflake, friends and human connection and affection. Keep up the great work you do bringing joy and thoughtful discussion to us all.
Hi, Gurdeep! How do you choose the topics for each of your articles? Is it based on what comes to your mind first? How about on psychology books? Friends? Family? Society? How do you go about selecting a topic for your next article? I have a curious mind.
Thank you, Gurdeep! This article really resonates with me as a person with severe chronic depression. I hope I can generate joy every single day, even if it’s only once per day. That would give me something to look forward to. Nobody but you has said to me “joy takes effort”. All this time, I was waiting to find joy or for joy to find me. I didn’t know I would have to cultivate it. I heard/read you say this before. Now that I survived the hot summer heat, I can focus on mustering up joy for myself and others!
This post is perfect timing for me. I just lost my job last week and was struggling with finding my joy. This will help me to find it in the little things I love to do, from spending time with our dog, to crafting and preparing for Christmas. Thank you for everything you do, from your kindness and sharing your wonderful stories and videos. Bless your beautiful heart!
Thank you so much for this reminder Gurdeep. I have been feeling very little joy lately, so your email arrived at the perfect time. 💗
Thank you for your feedback, Lisa! I sincerely hope joy finds its way to you.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful joy with us, Gurdeep! 💗

Combination of all those above things you outlined plus personal experiences helps me to decide what I should write about.
