Someone once told us that it's not a matter of not having time, but of not choosing time for something.

Brings the dilemma from passive to active

Thank you for your article, Gurdeep! You make very good points!! Everyone around me, including me, seems so incredibly busy all the time. Everyone’s complaining of all they have to do with the short time they’re given each day. It’s an epidemic! Love the dance & music in your video. I think it’s my favourite!

Gurdeep - Thanks for taking time to share this message. A reminder to those of us listening that time is precious and should be used with care and thought. Your two lists is a great concrete way to approach this. Making space is also so necessary for consciously feeding our hope and joy. And dancing:)

Creating a sense of 'time abundance' is a brilliant goal Gurdeep. The next time you find your self consulting your 'boredom list' would you be so kind as to DM me, either through Substack or Bluesky? I have a gift for you and have no other way to reach out to you, unless you are planning another visit to Victoria BC.

Hi Gurdeep,

This was an important topic to talk about. These days, our minds are trained to think this way… even when we’re not really busy, we still like to say we are. Once, my friend told me, “You seem very busy, you never call me.” I jokingly said, “Let me check my calendar and book a phone appointment for you,” and we both laughed.

It was interesting to learn about your school schedule and how marks help track the start and end of school. Thanks for reminding us not to fall into the habit of endless scrolling.

I loved this: Remember, highly creative ideas emerge from utter boredom, when mind is fully empty, so embrace your boredom.

The dance, music, and scenery were all beautiful! 🙏🏽💝

Edited, March 17: I just came across this video and thought to share it here. Dr. Sid is talking about what you’ve mentioned in your article.

Stopping my mindless scrolling right now.

Thank you for this, I found it most informative. I am sitting quietly in my home at 10 am already feeling drained of energy, thinking about it I realise that I spend too much time worrying about what I’ve got to do and not enough time actually resting. More music and dance, less worry and the jobs will get done with less stress

At the root of the problem is that we feel apart from God and don't feel a part of God so we go seeking fulfillment via our ego that wants to be separate from God and all else and looks to the external world to fulfill us. Conversely, our Higher Self knows we are a part of God and wants us to do God's will by expressing God from within ourselves. To express God is to express Divine Love towards ourselves and the people or things before us...

The bottom line is we are madly pursuing our external prodigal journey, seeking more and more false gods and not turning for the home of our Father...within ourselves to guide and provide by expressing God/Love.

Time is the master of all our existence it hovers over us like a helicopter Sometimes I think that our society has become very selfish with their time and rightly so when everyone and everything seems to want time from you. We’ve created technology that was invented to save time like voice mail, email, and zoom or FaceTime, when in reality I see this as a symptom of people not wanting to take the time to interact with others, instead it’s much easier to use this tech to put people off from taking up your time. It’s much easier to limit the amount of time someone may want you to spend on them or the things that they may want, for example there was a time when you could speak to someone human over the phone. Now we get options over the phone when we are looking for customer service, ultimately after choosing the right option we’re being given a recorded message that really doesn’t help, hence wasting your precious time. This symptom is an indicator of the distance we as people are putting between us while thinking that we are drawing ourselves closer to each other. Unfortunately I think this tech sickness is all part of a bigger agenda by tech companies and governments to compromise our time, while like farmers they sow and reap our personal information. When we were children we thought that we had all the time in the world never realizing it’s passing, now we are prisoners of time wanting to fill it without purpose.

Very wise words! I was wondering do you find time to dance every day?🤓
