Kindness does not just bring warmth and light into the lives of others, but it also heals many hearts, mending wounds and fostering a sense of peace, unity and care.
What a wonderful piece of writing that lifts my spirits at the end of a very stressful week. Hurtful words threatened to sow sour seeds. Enjoying the moment, the kindness of people at work and friends have reflected a balance that your words emphasise. Thank you. May the heat of our New Zealand summer send a warmth to the Yukon, as your words send reassuring messages here.
Thank you, Pru Williamson, for your kind words and for sharing your experiences from New Zealand. It must be quite warm there currently. I'm glad to hear that my words added some comfort and positivity to your week.
This arrived at a perfect moment. It’s cold. We’ve had weird and destructive weather this week. My heart aches with all of the suffering. And then your article arrived and just like that - I’m reminded of how beautiful and precious life is. Thank you
Oh my your words Mr.P.! "So, share your kindness, because they did not create the system you are unappreciative of, they just operate it to make a living." When I was a teacher I never wanted to be the 'last straw' to a child's experience. To build up is always better than to tear down.
Thank you, Mr. T., for sharing your thoughts and personal experiences as a teacher! Kindness sometimes requires letting go of small details, and seeing the bigger picture.
I did a TEDXSurrey talk and I mentioned that when we show kindness- "This kindness alows us to other to see the other, our with that, our mutual himanity." Thank you for your post, a great reminder, especially when one is having a trying time. When I go through a check out etc- I always said thank you, now I say thank you for you help- and its amazing as they stop and look up and smile. It dosent take much <3
It's great to read that you gave a TEDxSurrey talk, and mentioned that when we show kindness, "This kindness allows us to see the other, and with that, our mutual humanity." I agree with you that kindness brings out our compassion for humanity. Thanks for your wonderful thoughts!
Gurdeep your comment written tonight gave me a thought that perhaps serious consideration to implement a distinct system (scale) ‘mental health forecast’ barometer to accompany the data currently available with the weather forecast -an algorithm for mental health preparedness- to include specific beneficial methods of increasing mental health wellbeing during the course of natures’ weather. You are a most valuable person to show by shining example how a person can achieve their own mental health balance no matter the circumstances or forecast❤️
Thank you, Cathy, for your feedback! I appreciate it. Your innovative idea of implementing a 'mental health forecast' barometer could potentially provide great benefits. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and bringing this idea forward.
Thank you, Gurdeep, for this emphasis on kindness. Living here, in the US, we seem to have a preponderance of a “me first” attitude that is short on compassion, empathy and kindness. It is my way, and the way of a number of those with whom I am friends, to focus on those traits. A smile, an inquiry as to how someone is feeling, a listening ear - these little, kind gestures can go a long way toward brightening someone’s day.
Yes, I completely agree, Star Aasved. Kindness does go a long way and can significantly influence someone's day. The "me first" attitude isn't beneficial for any one. Since we live in a connected society, it's crucial to care for others, including strangers around us.
I must have channeled you, Gurdeep. I also recently wrote about this topic ... "Random Acts of Kindness." Link: https://jimgeschke.substack.com/p/random-acts-of-kindness
Life is a treasury, a garden of all things great and small. Even the smallest acts of kindness can matter greatly.
i love your joyous videos. We need to dance more, rejoice more and complain less!!!
You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about kindness, music and dance! You make the world a better place. Love this!
